What the service provides

Knife Templates is a design, layout, export and printing aid for knife templates. It does not provide engineering, manufacturing, safety or professional advice. Features may be experimental, contain errors or produce results that are unsuitable for a particular material, tool or process.

Your responsibility for safe and accurate use

You are responsible for checking every dimension, curve, hole, clearance and exported file before manufacture. Printer and PDF settings can change scale. Always print at 100 percent, physically verify the 100 mm calibration ruler and confirm critical measurements with a reliable measuring tool before using a template.

Knife making involves sharp tools, heat, machinery, dust and other hazards. You are responsible for using appropriate skill, supervision, protective equipment, ventilation and safe workshop practices, and for complying with laws that apply to your activities.

Your account and content

You are responsible for activity through your account, keeping your sign-in details secure and ensuring the information you provide is accurate. Tell me promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

You retain any rights you hold in designs and other content you create. You give Knife Templates a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, process, back up and deliver that content only as needed to operate, secure and improve the service. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for temporary protected backups and any legal retention requirement.

You are responsible for your content and for deciding who receives a share link. Anyone with a share link can access its frozen design snapshot until the link is revoked or its source design is deleted.

Acceptable use

You must not use the service to break the law, infringe another person's rights, distribute malicious code, probe or bypass security, interfere with the service, access another user's account or data, automate abusive traffic, or upload content that is unlawful or harmful. You must not misrepresent an exported design as certified, approved or professionally verified by Knife Templates.

Service availability and changes

I may change, suspend or discontinue part of the service, and may set reasonable technical limits. I will give reasonable notice of material changes or discontinuation where practical. Keep your own copies of important designs by downloading their JSON files. I may suspend or close an account where reasonably necessary to address a serious or repeated breach, security risk or legal requirement.

Consumer rights, disclaimers and liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies a guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights that may apply under the Australian Consumer Law.

Subject to those rights, the service is provided on an "as available" basis without a promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for your intended manufacturing process. To the extent permitted by law, Knife Templates is not liable for loss arising from unchecked dimensions, print scaling, fabrication choices, workshop activity, loss of locally stored data, unauthorised use of a share link or temporary service interruption.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms to reflect service, security or legal changes. I will update the effective date and provide reasonable notice of material changes through the site where practical. Your continued use after the updated terms take effect means you accept them.
